2026 Woman of the Year

The Mount Holly Community Awards Committee (MHCAC) is seeking nominations for the 2026 Mount Holly Woman of the Year. A panel of judges named by the MHCAC will review all nominations and name the Woman of the Year using the criteria listed below. The 2026 Mount Holly Woman of the Year will be announced at the annual Mount Holly Community Dinner on April 30th.

Purpose of the Mount Holly Woman of the Year Award

The deserving honor of Mount Holly’s Woman of the Year represents the best in women who share amazing leadership and volunteer spirits in the Mount Holly Community. This award recognizes and honors exceptional individuals who have demonstrated significant long-term commitment and accomplishment through a broad range of volunteerism enhancing the community by their service and excellence of leadership. They are the “grit” workers who make things happen: always leading by example. Their selfless service and creative skills contribute positive outcomes in making Mount Holly a good, friendly and welcoming place to live and work.

Criteria for Selection of the Mount Holly Woman of the Year

1. Have made noteworthy contributions or achievements that have reflected creditably upon and have improved the quality of life in the Mount Holly community.

2. Have committed a significant amount of time to a broad-ranging variety of recent (within the last five years) volunteer service within the Mount Holly community.

3. Be respected and held in high regard by the citizens of the Mount Holly community.

4. Nominees (including elected officials) must exhibit contributions to the Mount Holly community that are above and beyond what is normally expected in the performance of their duties and responsibilities. These contributions should be positive, have a positive impact on the community and improve the quality of life for others.

5. Set positive examples and motivation for others.

6. Mount Holly residency is not required, but may be considered in the selection process.

Instructions for Submitting a Nomination

1. All nominations submitted must use the Nomination Form attached to this announcement.

2. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

3. No attachments will be accepted (letters of support, resumes, etc.).

4. While there is no limit in the length of the information requested on nominees, conciseness is appreciated.

5. Nominations will be accepted beginning on February 1, 2026 and must be received NO LATER THAN March 16, 2026.

Submit a Nomination for Woman of the Year

General Instructions

  • Assume the selection committee is not familiar with your nominee. Use specific examples and descriptive language to showcase their attributes an contributions.

  • Understand that the selection committee will judge nominees on how they fit the criteria listed for this award.

  • Avoid general statements. Describe what the nominee did, how they did it, and what the impact was.

  • Please provide all information completely and clearly. Incomplete forms will not be considered.

  • Submit all materials by the deadline of March 16, 2026.
